Abstract
The present study employed a qualitative research design in conjunction with a descriptive research design to examine the effects of technology on procurement procedures within the bakery industry. The study's conclusions imply that technology generally improves procurement procedures. To guarantee a successful procurement process, the study did point out that more effective hardware and software are also required, in addition to appropriate training for procurement personnel. This study offers insightful information about the benefits and challenges of technology in the bakery industry's procurement procedures, as well as recommended directions for further investigation and application. The study also showed that while technology has been successful in lowering transaction costs, it has not been able to decrease the amount of time spent on the procurement process because of a number of issues, including limited funding and budgetary restrictions. In order to enhance employees' abilities to carry out their daily responsibilities and make better use of contemporary online procurement technologies such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), the study suggests staff training and development.
